Special Kids of Rome, or SKOR, is a self-help group that aims to support the families of children with special educational needs and learning differences.
All roads lead to Rome, and the city is home to many international families but it can be hard to track down what kind of support is available, especially if you’ve just arrived. Maybe your child is struggling at school, perhaps you're wondering if you need a professional assessment. Or you could be coming to terms with a new diagnosis.
We are a group of parents who get together for a cup of tea or a glass of wine, to share our experiences of living in Rome and to lend a sympathetic ear. We help put parents in touch with English-speaking teachers, tutors, health professionals and, most of all, with other families, because we believe that we can share with -- and learn from -- each other.
